Calm doesn’t mean quiet. It means being at home in yourself, even when life is loud.
About Mindfulness Wiltshire
I’m Amber Skyring, founder of Mindfulness Wiltshire.
With more than 25 years’ experience in senior leadership roles across local government and the voluntary sector — including serving as CEO of a Wiltshire charity — I understand the pressures of modern working life and the importance of supporting people and communities to thrive.
Alongside this professional background, I bring over a decade of personal mindfulness practice. I trained at the Centre for Mindfulness Research and Practice at Bangor University, completing their four-year Teacher Training Pathway, and I continue to deepen my learning through regular advanced trainings and silent retreats.
Mindfulness isn’t just something I teach — it’s how I live.
My intention in all this work is simple: to help people reconnect with themselves, find moments of calm amid the noise, and remember that even in difficult times, awareness and kindness are always available.
Training & Specialisms
I hold specialist training in:
- Mindfulness for Cancer
- Mindfulness in Schools (.b and .b Foundations)
- Workplace Mindfulness (Finding Peace in a Frantic World)
- Mindful Leadership
- Mindful Self-Compassion
A subject close to my heart is supporting people living with, or recovering from, cancer. I have delivered Mindfulness for Cancer programmes in partnership with the STARS Appeal at Salisbury District Hospital and the Wessex Cancer Trust, helping individuals meet the emotional and physical challenges of diagnosis and recovery with steadiness, spaciousness, and care.
What Guides Our Work
Our Approach
Mindfulness Wiltshire is grounded in evidence-based practice, compassion, and the belief that small moments of awareness can transform how we meet our lives.
Our teaching is steady, practical, and human, blending modern psychology with contemplative wisdom to support clarity, resilience, and wellbeing.
Our Values
Curiosity, kindness, and integrity shape everything we do.
We offer mindfulness in a way that honours both the depth of its Buddhist roots and the strength of the scientific research behind it — always with care, respect, and accessibility at the centre.
Why We Do This Work
Mindfulness Wiltshire exists to help people live with greater steadiness, connection, and ease.
We believe that when people feel grounded and aware, they move through the world with more compassion — toward themselves, others, and the wider community.
